Urban chic accommodation in Lanciano | Abruzzo4foodies

If you have been reading this blog lately, you may know that I’m particularly interested in providing my readers with the best travel tips. This time I’m reviewing a special urban accommodation, a city retreat you may not easily find in Abruzzo.

These nordic-inspired apartments clearly speak of the eclectic personality of their owners, Francesca and Diego, a globetrotting couple who lived the last five years between Oslo and Smirne. After returning to Abruzzo in 2014 they decided to start a small family business and make available to travelers and tourists their properties located in the very heart of Lanciano, a medieval city close to the famous Trabocchi Coast. The flats have been refurbished according to the owners’ cosmopolitan style and supplied with modern amenities and comforts.

The two adiacent apartments are named Sole, thanks to its sunny exposure, and Querce, where the main protagonist is an ancient oak tree over 12 meters high whose mighty branches shelter the house from summer heat. Both apartments can accommodate large groups up to 9 people.

The kitchens are fully equipped with complete tableware and cooking tools, including wine glasses to sip the complimentary bottle of wine you will find upon arrival! Additional snacks, lunch and drinks can be provided by the owners at a reasonable cost. Coffee maker, dishwasher and microwave will make your holiday life easier and leave you plenty of time to explore the area.

“We wanted to create a modern yet comfy environment to help our guest enjoy the slow-paced life of Abruzzo – Francesca says. We loved the idea of a cosmpolitan accommodation with that unexpected touch that our foreign guests would love to find in such a remote Italian region. We poured so much love and care in furnishing the apartments, we conceived them for globetrotters just like ourselves. We are committed to provide a highscale service although we offer a self-catering accommodation. “

“We thought of little adds-on and personal touches to make our guests feel at home – Diego continues – though miles away from their countries. Inside the apartments we offer poetry books, drawing kits for children, outdoor chairs to unwind on the large terraces. We think every detail matters and we worked hard to offer our guests the best possible experience.”

Air conditioning, wifi and bikes are available at no extra cost, the very centre is only 10 minutes walk. Sole and Querce apartments make a great venue for small groups or family parties interested in renting the entire property. The indoor areas are 100% smoke-free however smoking is tolerated on the terraces.
